DHAATU PUPPET THEATER

Dhaatu Puppet theater is a leading classical puppet theater of India. Research of over 15 years on the methodologies of construction and play of puppets has led to the puppet theater having over 15 puppet plays to its credit. Puppets at Dhaatu are crafted from wood and painted and finished with elaborate costuming and accurate stringing. The stylization of puppets is in-keeping with the traditional Moodalapaya Yakshagana style of Karnataka. The stringing techniques are improved versions of the pan-Indian control systems known.
